Amber Park was born “Bahk, Bitna (/BEEN-nah/)” and is from Suwon, one of the largest cities in South Korea. She is an avid and highly talented draftsperson (which means she draws), photographer, and musician–who plays piano, guitar, and the Japanese ceramic flute.

Her sense of proportion, and the speed with which she drafts a sketch when drawing, her media application, and her realism in pastel and paint, as well as her settings manipulation, arranging, and framing skills in photography, make her an artist to watch in the future.

Amber is a Protestant, who plays piano at her local parish church, where she attends mass and bible studies. She earned her degree in English Literature from Sungshil University in Seoul. She has also studied in England.

She has worked in hospitality, but is presently in education, working as a manager of a branch of Toss English. Before that she was head teacher, teacher-trainer, receptionist, and assistant office manager. She speaks excellent English, and of course Korean, as well as some Japanese. Her theories and practice of pedagogy are excellent.

Her greatest talent is her ability to approach life with a contageously positive, compassionate, and forgiving attitude. Her greatest personal attribute is probably her poise-oriented kindness and concern for other beings. She is an honest woman with a strong, yet infinitely gentle, and charming character.

Amber took her English name while in London, and began her cosmopolitan adventure there, though it is apparent that she already had within her the open-mindedness of a burgeoning world-citizen and artist, before she arrived in Europe.

Some quotes by Amber Park:

  • Art is for people (In other words, ‘only human beings make art’).
  • I don’t think you need books to teach English.
  • I just feel it in my heart. (on the existence of a higher power; on her belief in God)
  • I don’t get mad at you. (She gets disappointed. The author has never seen her very angry at all.)
  • I find it very hard to lie.
  • Because it was alive (in response to why she doesn’t wear leather, or eat meat).
